LOL@ comparing Kelly Pavlik's current popularity to Corrales' pre-Floyd.Comment
-
How much has Pavlik drawn on PPV?? As that was your logic for suggesting Corrales wasnt popular.Comment

Kelly Pavlik has sold roughly 375k more pay-per-views than Diego Corrales had sold at that point. How many had Corrales sold? ZERO, seeing as how he'd never headlined one before!
My logic for suggesting Corrales wasn't popular before he fought Mayweather (at least outside of hardcore circles) is that...he wasn't. In fact, neither he NOR Mayweather had HBO contracts at the time. In FACT, the winner of their bout was going to receive a six fight, $12 million dollar deal with HBO--a huge stepping-stone for two fighters who couldn't draw straws but meager compared to other HBO fighters. In FACT, it was so meager that Floyd called it a "slave contract."
Corrales-Mayweather (which you might think was a superfight) drew less than 4,000 people. It may have been less than 3k, I'm not sure. Yeah...I thought you meant De La Hoya popularity
Point blank, Corrales wasn't popular. Actually, neither was Floyd at that time. And they certainly weren't as popular than Kelly Pavlik who, aside from headlining a pay-per-view, has fought in front of sellout crowds and near sellout crowds. Two things Corrales hadn't done at the time he fought Floyd.
I think we're done here.Comment

Are you asking me because you don't know? Because obviously you don't.

Again, you assume Im talking about PPV revune or attendance gates when I referred to him as popular. Kelly Pavlik gets large attendances due to his following from Youngstown......a run down town which hasnt had a lot to celebrate recently.
Corrales never had that but he had the popularity amoungst insiders and true boxing fans, not casual fans hence why I said he was ranked highly. Guys like Ivan Calderon and Christian Mijares dont draw **** or get huge crowds yet they are ranked in the top 10 P4P and are popular amongst boxing fans.
So again. Nice attempt at jumping on a word, taking it out of context and thinking you know something about me.

Its funny cos Pavlik actually hasnt sold that on his own. Jermain Taylor was the draw.

I did use Pavlik as an example. With regard to PPV buys. Of which he has very few which can be legitimately attributed soley to him. Keeping up?
Now he's got a big following from Youngstown but I wouldnt say he was popular across the the entire US as say a De la Hoya or Roy Jones is. Got that?
Now we're done. Nice try though. Seriously. Next time, make sure you know where you're going.Comment

Usually when an insecure ***** laughs at his own joke and says "that didn't hurt my feelings"...well we all know it hit a bit close to home didn't it Stuart?Comment

I mean come on he said that he called out Pavlik after he defeated Jeff Lacy in 2006 I doubt that he even knows who's kelly at that time whos best opponent was Zuniga for the fcking NABF title. Then he said he asked him to fight kelly after the Jermain Taylor fight from what I know there's a rematch clause so Kelly can't fight anyone except Jermain.
HOW CAN YOU TAKE THIS GUY SERIOUSLY?????Comment

I dont even know what "short round" means. Im sure its highly offensive though.Comment
