He was very careful about his career... Now thanks to that careful planning he's about to become a "great". This sends a big message to the young undefeated fighters starting their pro careers right now. The guy has no special talent whatsoever besides a good work rate (and faulty technique) but gets to be compared to the likes of Roy Jones Jr. If he beats Jones, which is almost certain he is going to, he will surpass Jones in these same crazy people's minds and that will be a joke. A sad joke.

Absurd. Calzaghe is a fast and gifted SMW with a great deal of boxing talent. He can fight his opponent in a style of his choosing, be that brawling or boxing, going forward or going back. Based on talent I don't think he will surpass Jones in the minds of many, but if he manages to retire undefeated he will certainly be remembered for that, as he will for the number of title defences he made.

Unfortunately it is. Manfredo was popular from the Contender. Casual Yank fans put a lot of stock into that ****e, hence why fighting him raised Joe's profile.

Why do people keep saying Joe "called out" Pavlik when he says nothing of the sort. Did he "call out" Bika? No, he offered him a fight

No casual Yank put stock in that ****. In fact, I know casual fans who didn't even think the Contender cast fought professionally LMAO. In fact, the only person who I've heard put any kind of stock in it was that announcer from Setanta last week!

And of course Dirk "never been to America, knows nothing about America, but still hates on America/talks **** about America and runs his mouth" Diggler. Him too. He clearly puts stock into it.
