I was told today by former All-Star NBA'er Antonio McDyess.
Antonio is one of my customers and my homeboy even more. He was telling me today that after the nest 2 seasons are up that he is retiring. I told him that he still had it, and why would he do that. He said that he has been playing so long that he no longer loves the sport. He said he watches no basketball and doesnt even keep up with it. He said he no longer has a passion to play. He said he told the Pistons that he doesnt want to start this year. He wants to come off of the bench.
It kind of gave me insight to a professional athletes mid right then and there. He has decided 3 or more years in advance. Since the beginning of his contract with them. I see Floyd the same way. He no longer has the love for the game. No longer wants to deal with the BS. It seems to me that it is now a JOB and not a hobby or a passion of theirs.
It was just a weird akward moment. The fist thing that popped in my head was Floyd. And I dont think Floyd loves it anymore. Once you lose the love, you no longer can fully give it your all.
Oh and by the way, Antonio is a bigger fan of boxing than almost anyone on this site. He is one real, nice, humble, and genuine person.
