Vanes has the most sheer talent of any prospect in this weight class. Remember he still only has 4 fights with Ronnie in his corner. Its a transition period for a young fighter who for 17 fights was fighting Freddie Roach style and is having to switch it up in the middle of his career. A few more fights under his belt under Ronnie, EVERYONE will be talking about Vanes and Kirkland and Angulo will both be ducking him in and out of the ring!!!

Vanes needs a couple more fights, what I saw was a VERY impressive body attack against medina, don't know if anyone else noticed. Couple more fights and he is a title holder, would not doubt him against ANY 154 pounder with a little more tweaking. Chaves jr vs Vanes=Vanes KTFO Round 5!

I must admit Vanes landed a hellacious hook to the body. I thought Medina **** himself, straight up.

              Agreed

Vanes needs to beat someone in the top 50 before even thinking about stepping up against a top 15 guy.

Medina who Vanes just outclassed was ranked #15 by NABO...

He was also Top 25 I believe for the WBC...

                check your facts my friend.

Chavez jr is ranked #7 by the WBC!!! That is the biggest Joke ever. Vanes would knock that joke out in the first 3 rounds. so what you are saying is Vanes beats Chavez jr and then Vanes jumps more than 20 spots according to the WBC. Rankings are important, but heck Chavez jr. has ducking and avoiding the same Michael Medina that Vanes dominated for a year or so...I would have to guess that Medina would beat Ricardo Cortes (Kirkland's last opponent). stop watching rankings and start watching fights my friend.
