The first time i saw kikland fight he got hit a lot and was knocked down in the first by Allen Conyers. He did come back and win the fight by ko in the first, but it doesnt say much about his defense.

Vanes has nowhere near the KO power Kirkland does,Kirkland has raw 1 punch knock u out power,Vanes doesnt have that much of a hit too him,not on Kirklands level,or Alfredo for that matter

I see Kirkland by nasty stoppage

Vanes has proven to have a pretty solid chin... but ya this is a close one and a hell of a fight...

better they make this happen at a later point... if all goes well.. both are undefeated holding their own titles... a serious super fight maybe in a year or two.

Jr. middleweight will have serious action in 2009

When I said both I was refering to Angulo and Kirkland. You got to back up and read the beg of the thread.

Kirkland is a stone cold killer, Vanes is a solid fighter, but i see Kirkland just wanting it more and being able to pull it out down the stretch.

Yeah, I've seen a couple and he looks good but nothing special. He will definitely put up a good fight but I think Angulo's power, work rate and agression will be too much for him.

About all that talk of meeting for the NABO, it is very doubtful. Top contenders rarely meet for one of those belts, usually the fights include one good young prospect and a guy who has been around for a while and hasn't done too much.

I wouldn't expect any of these guys to match up until right before a world title fight (as an eliminator) or as a title fight.

dont know about that... Vanes does have serious power, but just has been opted to box more by order of Ronnie Shields... thus no more fast KOs, but more sound boxing which could prove a winner vs. Kirkland

If this fight happens right now, I'd pick Kirkland to win it. But if it happens later maybe not. It depends, I have to see how the two fighters progress in there next fights, but I wasn't really impressed by either Kirkland or Vanes in there last fight. But all fighters have there off nights sometimes, but when it comes to a big fight such as this one... There can be no off night

fair enough... did you see the video - 1st round KO by Vanes?... he does have power bro

i know the opponent wasnt much, but Vanes does have that ruthless fight to kill attitude too... he doesnt go in lookin to decision guys.

I'm going to have to agree with this. Not to take anything away from Vanes but my boy Kirkland is a certified pitbul!!
