Give me a break. 5 seconds left to be ROBBED by a referee. Just truly sickening to think people actually think he "saved his life." That man fought the fight of his life and should of been allowed to hear the final bell and be picked up as a champion. Just sickening.
What was the worst robbery you've ever seen?

I don't understand the "saved his life" thing either.Give me a break. 5 seconds left to be ROBBED by a referee. Just truly sickening to think people actually think he "saved his life." It's totally unknown what one punch would have done. He took a beating all night. Of course, tragedy COULD happen, but you can say that about any fight.Comment

Some people act as if it's the ref's responsibility to deliberately allow the clock to run down in order to protect a fighter's lead on the scorecards. The fact of the matter is the fight couldnt have continued because Taylor was unable to respond and there was still time left on the clock = KO victoryComment

Give me a break. I'm mexican and was a JCC fan.
But Taylor was up at like 5 or 6 and aware of what was going on. The fight should have been allowed to go on. Now say if there was 20 or 30 seconds until the bell and if Chavez ran in with a flurry or something then you have to stop it. But he was up and was on decent legs. He was in the corner standing upright. Not wobbling.Comment

you need to watch that fight again. Taylor was slumped in the corner with his arms hanging over the ropes for support and he remained that way even after the fight ended and everyone jumped in the ring. His corner eventually brought out a stool and attended to him before he was taken to the hospital.Give me a break. I'm mexican and was a JCC fan.

This clearly does not belong in this thread, but I'm watching it right now (DVR FTW), and the decision irritates the **** out of me at the end the fight.

He was wobbly but he knew what was going on, he knew immediately when Steele stopped the fight which means he knew what was going on, he didn't answer Steele's question because Lou Duva had jumped up onto the apron causing Taylor to look over at him when Steele was asking his question. I blame Duva more than Steele for the stoppage.Comment
