Joe Calzaghe has spoken out about the past allegations against Roy Jones Jr. that deal with his use of steroids. Jones tested positive for androstenedione, an anabolic steroid, back in 2000 when he beat Richard Hall. It should be noted that Hall also tested positive for anabolic steroids for the same fight. Jones claimed that he took an over the counter product that may have contained an illegal substance that he was unaware of. The double positive went unpunished for both, but the issue has been re-opened up by the UK media. Calzaghe faces Jones on November 8 at New York's Madison Square Garden. [details]

Steroids is not a big deal in boxing. You still gotta make weight. So you can only pack on so much muscle, and muscle doesnt neccesarily help you in boxing.

Mayorga took steroids when he got Ko'd by Delahoya. So did Vargas when he got Ko'd by Delahoya.

Jones got caught once for using steroids. But even if he used it more than once, it still didn't make him the great fighter that he was.


With that said, Joe beating Roy even with steroids? Yeah right, you won't even beat a 40 year old RJJ with bad legs, stamina and no steroids.

Styles make fight and RJJ will toy with the slapper, countering him all night into a 117-111 type of decision.

Do you even know what you're talking about? Mayorga DID NOT test positive for steroids dude. It was a diarrhetic. Do you know the difference?

Anyone who knows a damn thing about supplements knows that androstenedione was an otc or over the counter supplement then. It was legal. It later became banned because of the McGuire thing. Also androstenedione is in no way on the level of any real steroids. It has to be converted by the body via a conversion step, and whats left is really nothing to be crying about. A "real" steroid is already past conversion steps. If he had used THG or any designer steroid then there would be a definite problem but androstenedione is a ****ing joke, seriously.
