Reason why DLH didn't knock Forbes out is cause he wanted to sell a rematch with Mayweather. Showing he can go a full 12 rounds without fading. DLH is not a dumbass, why do you think hes the richest boxer in history?Comment

oh yeah, im sure thats exactly what oscar had in mind. go 12 rounds in a boring decision only to get his face broken. that was really going to sell the rematch and generate peoples interest for it. fans like you are the reason hes gotten rich, not his smarts.Comment

LOL @ facebroken...have you even seen what a broken face looks like? All DLH had was swelling on his face. He's gotten rich by facing the best, even if its losing some matches, but he still gave fans what they wanted. A good fight. You will see this match is going to turn into Gatti vs DLH all over again, only reason DLH isn't going to knock that ass out soon is to make it look competitive. Quit hatingComment

Yeah, I agree with you except for the broken face part. Y'all wanna see what a broken face look like, look at Erika Morales's face after PAC chewed him and spitted him out in their second fight(lol).
Anyway, I agree, it ain't so much DLJoto's smarts that has earned him $$$. That's like saying Anna Kournikova is/was the highest earning women's tennis player because of her "smarts". I'll give DLJoto credit for two things, he has shown to have handled his celebrity status quite well and has surrounded himself with people that has shown him "the way". Unlike Tyson, well, we all know how that turned out.Comment

A good fight??? I almost started nodding off after the 6th round. There wasn't an ounce of excitement or Oscar even looking like he was going to hurt Forbes.LOL @ facebroken...have you even seen what a broken face looks like? All DLH had was swelling on his face. He's gotten rich by facing the best, even if its losing some matches, but he still gave fans what they wanted. A good fight. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer said he would meet in the next few days with Mayweather adviser Al Haymon to finalize the deal for Mayweather-De La Hoya II. De La Hoya said he was fine physically after his victory against Forbes -- despite a sore left hand and swelling around his right eye caused by a hairline fracture of a facial bone. De La Hoya had an MRI after the fight and a follow-up exam Monday. "I was very concerned about my eye and my hand, but after a couple of days of rest and ice, the swelling has gone down," De La Hoya said Thursday. "There is a hairline fracture [around the eye] but nothing serious. It will just take some rest."Comment

DEFENSE IS THE ANSWER. One guy (Forbes) covers up and uses angles while the other (pacquiao) is usually stronger and too quick for his opponents. And usually has the power to hurt them or make them respect his punch.
In this case, he is a lightweight who will be moving up facing a legit 5'10 jr.middleweight. He will NOT be stronger of the two. He will not have the punching power. He will not have the size advantage at 5'6. He won't even have the boxing skills advantage. Guys like Pernell Whitaker (who was 5'6 as well), Floyd and Forbes all have had boxing skills that made up for their size.
Pacquiao does not. So all he will have is a SPEED advantage which won't be enough even against this version of Delahoya. Eventually Oscar will catch him with something big and get him out of there. Oscar should be ashamed for taking this fight.
