I don't know how you can all a hard fought competitive fight a "raping". I had it 9-6 Duran. But don't think Duran came out unscathed. He was urinating blood after that fight from the body shots. Something Leonard also talked about when pushing for a rematch. That's not talked about much though. Duran supposedly not training is a sorry excuse for a pro fighter. To say there was no need for Duran to fight a rematch because he won the first fight is laughable.

Rematches suck. Boxing is a one-off event. When you beat a guy he can never get even. I don't see anyone as obliged to give a rematch. Duran took the fight on shortened notice for the money. That's his fault, but still the fight didn't matter.

I say the same for all other rematches.

i agree i dont know why fans always think the winner is obliged to give the loser another crack at a rematch

if they do decided to give there oponents a rematch and lose them more fool them for putting money before there legacy
