He's hyping the fight you ******, it's what any other fighter does, he's not going to say "i am fighting an old shot Roy Jones Jr. which will make me look good."

He's defending the fight. And thank god because this fight needs more defending than Amir Khan's chin.

Well, the last time I checked, this is one of the biggest money fights of the year. You look at one quote and act as if that proves your entire theory.

You seem to have an anti-Calzaghe agenda the last few days. You're looking at a situation, interpreting it in a way that suits that agenda, and then saying

Got to give it to Joe on this one at least he admits that Roy Jones is one of the best thats "been" and not the best there is.

Look anytime a fighter (Calzaghe) gives multiple interviews discussing why he shouldnt fight another fighter (Pavlik), then they know damw well that thats the fight that boxing fans, experts, etc. want/need to see.

Unlikely this breaks out into a firefight, but if it did I think RJ would have the best chance. Just the usual pre-fight hype tho. I expect a good boxing match but nothin else.

No Calzaghe ***** ass is too focused on Pavlik to worry about going out in a blaze of glory over Roy Jones...It's no way Calzaghe knocks out Jones...He couldn't knock out Lacy and got a bull**** stoppage out of Manfredo..Seriously when is the last time Calzaghe knocked somebody out or Roy Jones...Therefore It will go to decision and could go either way...Calzaghe isn't very accurate, but he throws a lot of punches and RJJ is accurate, but doesn't throw that many cause he's getting old I see RJJ winning and upsetting calzaghe I would rather see Pavlik-RJJ over Pavlik-Calzaghe anyday!

You all have the "wrong end of the stick".

Regardless of the criticism on this site about this fight, mainly, I suspect, by non boxers, the facts are indisputable.

Roy Jones is one of the best fighters ever, has shown us things in the ring which would once have been regarded as "impossible" , and although undoubtedly nowhere near his glory days, is still more than good enough to partake in a good, interesting fight. I very rarely use the word "legend" but, within a few years after Jones retires, THAT'S how he will be described.

I've seen many of his fights, and, in his last 3, which seem to condemn him for some, I see that, although it's not as frequent throughout a fight, he still has that blazing hand speed, and ring smarts.

When he's finally gone, we'll miss him more than you all think, but, in the meantime, lets enjoy what he still has to offer.

The GOOD thing about this fight is, that both Calzaghe and Jones, with their great skills and indomitable boxing spirits, plus their determination that this shall be "a fight to be remembered", are able and willing, if action lags, to switch into another gear and give the fans some excitement-just to give the fans some excitement.

And they BOTH want to win, so they'll be trying to win by doing what they do best.

                      I'm looking forward to it.
