Even though nearly all of them are predicting Roy by KO, they'll reverse that opinion immediately and claim that's just what they desired to see, not what they were actually expecting, and that anybody with any brains couldn't possibly expect Grandpa Jones to beat a young, virile Zaggs, who's not even half his age (2 years..apparently a vast age difference).

It's even possible that many will drop Roy as a favorite, claiming he was overrated his entire career, and that the win is meaningless, and that Calzaghe is still "Joke Calslappy". There will probably be alot of editing of weeks and months old posts here on this forum, in unprecedented frequency. After all, nobody wants to get caught looking that ****ing ******.
Newsflash: Joe Calzaghe is a pretty big favorite for this fight. This board doesn't speak for the general population. The general population - and oddsmakers - believe Jones hasn't had a significant win in five years and is shot.

In truth, they are both past their best. Joe has china hands and Roy has a china chin, the fight is meaningless other than two 'names' getting it on for a mega payday. If Calzaghe was fighting to prove something he would take on Pavlik. This is a retirement check for both of them. Let's keep it in perspective.

Quite an education you've managed. Here's what I've learned during my life.....that most people are two faced, irregardless of what sport they like. I've also learned that about 90% of the people on this planet have no sense of humility, or sportsmanship, or honor, or duty, and that even though you think you can trust someone, you're better off not taking the chance by giving them an opportunity to prove you wrong. Also learned that in matters concerning anything over $1000, you're better off not trusting ANYONE, ever. Also that if you're married.....just blow your ****ing brains out when you're young, because you do NOT WANT TO GROW OLD WITH THAT ****ING WHORE WHO SLEEPS BESIDE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good thing I was talking about this forum, then, and not the rest of the boxing fans of the world.

Honestly, I don't think you'll find nearly the number of sackswingers anywhere else...this forum is somewhat of a microcosm, where there are many backward happenings, and the cumguzzling sackswingers in such numbers is only one of them. I don't know what the last poll results were, but seems to me that the odds on this forum are nearly even, maybe even tilted in JOnes' favor a little.

That's fine - as long as people don't continue to live in this dream world where RJ is heavily favored to win. He's not. In fact, he's heavily favored to LOSE.

The average poster on here wasn't even following their favorite boxer (or the sport) five years ago. And the average opinion isn't that much better than the ones you get from the causual fan. Sad, really.

I agree I think we have alot of new fans here that probably dont remember when Roy was at his best i.e. at 160, and most of them probably never heard of Calzaghe until he beat up Lacy. Sadly I myself saw him for the first time when he fought Eubank but I have seen most of his big fights.

Look, Calzaghe is flat out fighting a guy who is washed up. The sad thing is that despite being washed up people still believe Calzaghe has a chance of losing. This only speaks to Calzaghe's mediocrity. To pretend as though people suspecting this is a close fight is anything other then a reflection of Joe Calzaghe's mediocrity is a Joke.

I don't really mind that most are newcomers - we all were newcomers at one point. What bothers me is when they pretend to know what happened a few years ago, based on what boxrec told them.

Even worse are the newcomers who are in love with some fighter and refuse to hear what others tell them (facts) because it may damage what they believe about that fighter (or want to believe). They're on here to argue relentlessly, right or wrong - and hope they can convince a few people who know as little as they do. Really, REALLY sad. And this board is filled with tons of them.
