The uppercut could be very effective against Povetkin. Wladimir has thrown a few here and there but not nearly as many as he did for example against Ray Mercer.
Lewis was cautious but he still managed to have a great uppercut.
You hate all the other European fighters too - Calzaghe, Kessler, etc.
LMAO
You're crazy.
I dont like Calzaghe's because I feel he's overrated (but still good)
Kessler, I like him so I dont see what you're talking about. If you're referring to the whole taylor-kessler thing this morning, I even said that I like Kessler but he hasnt done anything to be considered better than Taylor.
I understand he shouldnt fight there but what I'm trying to say is if he's going to be in close quarters, leaning all over the guy, he might as well get off a punch or two.
I mean that's not how the post came off but fair enough. He could but I don't think it would be a good idea. He's leaning on the guy to sap the guy of his strength like Lennox used to do. if you remember Wlad didn't even know or hold correctly before Stewart took him over. This is all classic big guy Stewart training. That being said sure on the way out he could throw an uppercut IF the guy is leaning into him. Usually with the way that Wlad holds that doesn't happen. Throwing hooks to the body or even rabbit punches seems a pointless waste of energy from that hold because as Wlad is d****d over the guys back, he's not going to get any impact on the punch hooking downward for a light rabbit punch.
If you don't like the guy fine. I think he used to be exciting. But it got him KTFO. So now he's smarter but more boring. Oh well. He's still kicking the crap out of everyone.

In pressure situations, and when coming out of the hold Wlad backs straight up. After Lewis tied you up he backed out of it at an angle and if the other guy came forward he would throw his monster uppercut. I think that's why Wlad should not throw that punch the way he backs out of his hold.
