My problem with that article Bigpoppa is it talks about RJJ being relevant which IMO he hasnt been since the Johnson fight or if you wanted to be generous you could say Tarver III. Jones is only in this fight because of his name, his career over the past few years hasn't been relevant at all. What has he done lately? Calzaghe is taking this fight for 2 reasons #1 he's always called out Jones and now he's got him, and #2 to Cal beating a name fighter past his best is better than beating a good contender, also some critics could add a 3rd and say Cal is taking an easy fight for big money. Either way RJJ is no longer relevant.

I was thinking about this when I was watching the press conference. Man Roy has come a long way and now he has a major fight which he is also promoting. Got to give him credit and its good to see him back in the spootlight.

Pierrot make no mistake about it RJJ is only in this fight because has still has a name that means something to Calzaghe. Jones hasn't beated anyone relevant since Tarver I and that was back in 2003 so in 5 years he's been treading water waiting for the money fight like this to come. Outside of his early career greatness and recognition as an atg, in the last 5 years Jones has done nothing to earn a shot against the legit 175 lb champ.

Right... So would you like to bet against Roy with me? However, as long as one wins. Good enough? Say...1k bet.

Good ****. Sounds like some mutual respect between two great fighters. Hopefully the fight, while maybe long overdue, will produce fireworks. I'll be buying it.

I'm new to the boards are you asking me to make a bet with you? I'm not sure how to do that on here.

Eh, same with me. I think we make it our signatures. How about it?

That's the good thing about being a great boxer/P4P great in your prime. Your name alone will keep you relevant enough to get a big money fight in your twilight. I agree with everyone in that this fight is long overdue and being a Roy fan, I hope that he'll hang them up after this one. He has a better chance than some are giving him and if his legs don't tire out, he should be in it for the long haul. He won't be looking for a KO, as he hasn't looked for a KO in 5+ years. It should be a better fight that the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight and I'll be pulling for Roy. Either way, these guys are showing great respect for each other, then again, the fight is still 2 months away and things should start to get heated the closer we get to fight night.
