Many fighters would have been leery about a rematch, but Mosley fought Forrest again six months later. Mosley did better, but lost a closer unanimous decision.

In March 2004, Mosley fought and lost a wide decision to Winky Wright. Undaunted, Mosley squared off with Wright again eight months later and lost a much closer majority decision.

In other words, Mosley is not easily discouraged. That's why if he gets past Ricardo Mayorga a week from Saturday at Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., Mosley next wants welterweight champion Antonio Margarito.

Margarito is coming off an 11th-round stoppage of previously unbeaten Miguel Cotto in July. Like Forrest and Wright, Margarito is taller and longer than Mosley. At 30, Margarito is also seven years Mosley's junior. But it's not in Mosley's nature to take the easy road.

"I've definitely always had that fire in my belly, even when I was a young kid," Mosley said Wednesday, during a telephone conversation from his training camp in Big Bear. "It's the competitive nature in me. If I can be the best, I am going to give myself a shot to be the best out there." [details]

Mosley may have a fire but Margarito is pretty much and inferno. So no Shane you cant deal with a guy like Marg. Why? Because Shane panics when he gets hurt or is losing.

Mosley will school Mayorga and this point in his career. Any who i think Margarito is to big for Shane and to lengthy. He has never done well with long armed fighters and Margarito is slower he is huge and has very long arms. Peace

I think Margs beats Mosley not just because of the natural size and power difference but because Mosley only beats guys that he can hurt. Look at the Cotto fight, once Mosley started tagging him Cotto backed up and ran a bit, DLH was the same story. But against Winky and Forrest they walked through Shane's power and forced him to back up, I see the anvil chinned Margs doing the same thing. If Mosley cant hurt Margs and almost no one ever has then I'd take Marg by decision.

My opinion has gone back and forth on this one whenever it's been discussed. I'm sure SSM will beat Mayo, but I wanna see how he looks in that fight and how much punishment he takes/doesn't take before I say whether or not he can beat Marg.

Agreed, but I'm always down to watch Margaritos continued path to brain damage.
