Did Juan Marquez turn down Eric Morales? I seriously doubt it!

You're probably right about an immediate rematch being JMM's best chance of beating Manny. It took some time for Manny to improve on his boxing while JMM back then was almost the complete package.
Glad you agree, alot of JMM nuts think everyone else but team Marquez screwed them out of the Manny rematch. In reality it was Nacho and his brilliant idea of asking for more money than the budget who ruined any chance of the immediate rematch. I'm not knocking JMM the guy's a good fighter but his fans need to open their eyes.

Bottomline...Pacman vs. JMM 2 could have happened sooner. Marquez v. Morales and Marquez vs. Hamed could also have happened but Nacho Beristain said "NO". Fact: Pacman, Morales and Hamed never ducked Marquez, Marquez chickened out by overpricing himself.

Well IDK if Marquez himself backed out, but his team did overprice him especially at that point in his career when he wasn't a major attraction. After all the mistakes Nacho made guiding his career JMM should be kissing MAB's feet for not laughing at the idiotic ego and price of team Marquez and granting him the chance to become a name in the lower weight divisions.

yeah I dont think this is to question JMM's heart at all moreso than his team's odd decisions. I for one think its ballsy to go into John's homecourt for pittance and make a fight when he could have opted to relinquish his belt and vie to be a mando elsewhere.

his team ****ed him royally at times and it is now nice to see Jaime Quintana finally take control of the business

Marquez is no chicken...Nacho is the one to blame. Try telling Marquez is a chicken and we'll see if you don't get your grill cracked.

Yeah i agree man Nacho is the reason why good trainers should keep their noses out of the managerial side of boxing. Hell i'd take carl king over Beristein lol.

What I don't like is how everyone is calling JMM the best of the Big 3 (morales, barrera, jmm) just because he is still fighting and still fighting like he's in his prime. Good for Juan Manuel.

But Morales and Barrera both accomplished things JMM never did at 122 and 126. So just because both are about finished all of a sudden JMM's always been the man?

You think Morales would have ever lost to Freddie Norwood? Haha!

                  Viva Erik Morales!

                    i agree.

even with the casa win , juanma's resume is lacking compared to erik's and marco's.
