Arum was mad that the Indonesian promotor won promotional rights to Marquez-John. Arum hated Nacho because Nacho thought that making only 100,000 more than what was previously given was preposterous.

WTF???!!! TOP RANK didnt even bother to bid...OMG you're a nOOb....

Maybe for bringing up FALSE Information all the time? That's not a positive thing in a forum you know.

Marquez nuthugs keep saying that their fighter is being ducked when in truth they are the ones saying "no" to guaranteed mega-fights.

Marquez and his manager-trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain were offered $750,000 for a rematch with Pacquiao before being stripped of the belts, but spurned the offer. After being stripped, Marquez accepted $30,000 to challenge the WBA's newly appointed champion, Chris John, in Indonesia. Marquez lost a disputed decision to John in Borneo, Indonesia, in March. Excerpts from an interview with former Marquez and Barrera matchmaker for Forum Boxing Inc, Antonio Curtis.

"When they said they were going to make a unification, I forgot who the hell they were supposed to be fighting. What happened is this, as soon as they told us no, we took another fight. As soon as we took another fight, then they called us when we had already signed for another fight and then they wanted us to fight Hamed, Curtis recalled, of those events. Now, I wanted to pull that fight, to fight Hamed. But Nacho said no. He would've gotten a half-million for the fight and Nacho turned that fight down."

              ____

"For whatever reason, Marquez and Nacho Biristain had earlier rejected a $750,000 payday to fight Manny Pacquiao and $1.5 million to fight Erik Morales. Marquez now finds himself fighting for the whopping sum of (Austin Powers moment, pinky finger to the mouth) ----- $31,250. Marquez is fighting for chickenfeed." - article by Scott Mallon, 2006
              ____

"Then, following Marquez's easy decision victory against Victor Polo on May 7, duBoef said Top Rank offered Marquez $1.5 million to fight Erik Morales this fall on HBO PPV. DuBoef said the Marquez camp asked for $3.5 million, a figure even the popular Morales has never been guaranteed for a fight." - article by Dan Rafael

Boof, if you're really after the truth, then I respectfully suggest that you try to read up on as many writeups as you can get your hands on about that issue and not merely rely on a few articles focusing only on what Marquez and his team have got to say. There are two sides to every coin so to speak, and I'm not surprised that he and Nacho applied some damage control by blaming everyone else except themselves for the string of lackluster match-ups that ultimately lead to that career threatening fiasco in Indonesia, when almost everyone else had their fingers pointed at them... particularly Beristain.

It's either you've not followed closely the events that transpired after that "draw," or you have a bad memory, or a selective memory, or you've got a revisionist agenda, or you're just simply hating, etc., etc., because if there's anyone around here giving out false information, I'm afraid it's you. Yeah it's true... JMM priced himself out of a Morales super fight.

Who knows why he was banned, maybe it was his false info, maybe it was because a large number of posters seem to dislike the kid, maybe it was because he cant shut his mouth when he needs to, but one thing I do know is that JMM regardless of what that kid said blew a great chance to rematch Manny immediately and maybe at that stage of both fighters careers Marquez had a better chance to beat Pacquiao. With friends like Nacho who needs enemies.

It was Reeno he accused of giving out false info...lol.

You're probably right about an immediate rematch being JMM's best chance of beating Manny. It took some time for Manny to improve on his boxing while JMM back then was almost the complete package.
