Marquez has had one fight at 135 and it was against a fighter obviously past his prime. We don't even know how he would do against the other top 135 pound fighters. Santa Cruz beat Casamayor too.He just didn't get the decision. Now that JMMM beat Casamayor, all of a sudden people jump on this bandwagon like he's going to wipe out everybody at 135 and 140. Jumping up to 140 to fight a fast, big for his weight, strong guy like Hatton, who would be in his face all night, is a totally different story. Another thing: JMM does not have the defensive skills of Mayweather. He would get hit much more so I don't know how you can say he would be "more dominating" than Mayweather" and he's not "more aggressive" like you claim. You make it seem like Mayweather didn't throw any punches at Hatton. Getting hit more does not mean "more aggresive".
JMM vs. Hatton @ 140

[QUOTE=Chase8400;4075342]Pacman brutalize Hatton? What are you on? The Hitman would kill him to the body and end this. Remember, Manny has been stopped to the body before and he is no defensive wizzard like Floyd. Also, trust me: Marquez is no Floyd either. Ricky is too big for him and would smother any great "boxing" he has a chance to do. Marquez can be hit and Hatton would get a piece of him.
That's the way I see it as well. People underrate Hatton because of his loss to Mayweather which is still his only loss. And now people are overrating Marquez for a win over Casamayor who is no longer the best 135 has to offer. And before anybody starts saying "well JMM is 35!" fighters age differently. Casamayor has been deteriorating for a while now. JMM has not shown any signs of that in any of his fights. Casamayor may be even older than 37. I never believed he was being 100 percent truthful about his age.Last edited by joseph5620; 09-17-2008, 11:37 AM.Comment
