Something smells, and it's not cheese..........
I believe Ruiz to be absolutely correct in the position he has taken. There seems to be no dispute as to whether Ruiz' contentions are true or not, and it also seems that his claims are in fact, correct.
The only thing close to this situation that I recall is in the Stevie Johnson-Jose Luis Castillo return fight, where Stevie was given a majority win, but then it was discovered that it was a draw, so he went into Castillo's dressing room, and handed him over the belt, no fuss made.
But this was only an adding mistake, not a judge suddenly remembering he'd put down the wrong rd winner, after the decision had been given.
I've always liked Stevie Johnson.Comment

It's only an unfair advantage if the fighter is far ahead and knows that he just needs to avoid getting knocked out in order to win the fight. That's not the case here; even if Valuev knew the score at any point prior to the post-fight announcement, he still had to win the last two rounds in order to win the fight. If he only won 5 out of 10 rounds, it's not exactly a given that he's going to win the last two rounds.Comment
