He just comes across as a real genuine dude. I remember when he put the entire sport of boxing on blast after they denied him a shot at Juan Diaz. He's not in it for the fame and glamour. You can tell that he's in it to fight the best to be considered the best, and that you have to respect.

I remember reading an article leading up to his fight with Diaz. It stated that Campbell use to work in a supermarket (i think) and he use to shadow box in the back, when one of his co-workers watched him and told Campbell that he looked really good and should consider a career in boxing. Nate then went on and did just that.

Usually people who do that are convicted, charges were never substantiated or even made it to court.

I know Campbell, he's about as real as they come. Even when Jim Gray was interviewing him, he was like WTF? when Gray asked him a dumb question he already answered. He would have done the same if it was me or Howard Cossell asking it.
