Pacquiao would give Casamayor that role immediately and would have walked into more shots, but his overall activity level would have swarmed him I believe.
Revenge, what was your take on Guzman? And no i'm not asking you to just tell me he's an idiot. I'm only asking cause I know your buddies with Cambell. Did Guzman just not want to fight? Was he simply not well from trying to make weight?

I do believe JMM's performance should be put into perspective. I'd like to see him in against another decent fighter. One who's not an old man fighting like an old man. We know he matches up well against Pac and of course I would like to see that again but I'd also like to see him match up against a solid lightweight.
It's pretty much a case of styles making fights, Casamayor just has the style to give Pacquiao problems because he's a very, very good counterpuncher and I wouldn't be surprised if he managed to make Pacquiao look bad in a fight between them even at this stage.

And I thought Casamayor looked better than he has in a few years, probably his best since the third Corrales fight or perhaps even a bit longer than that but you're right, I would like to see Marquez in against a physically imposing lightweight and see how he handles that because he looked pretty small in there.

Either way a rubber match will obviously be Awesome!
You couldn't be more wrong. You are trying to discredit JMM by saying he beat a bum or something. Casamayor just destroyed Katsidis, a fighter who is very dangerous, young and strong.

JMM is also no spring chicken, he's 35 years old with a lot of fights under his belt and went up a weight class to fight one of the most ellusive boxers in the game.

This is a monumental win for him, to counter punch the way he did and force Casa to be the agressor at times when that's not what he wants to do. Casa plays the counter puncher and that's how he lures fighters into his shots, JMM took that from him.

There was also a big size difference, Casa looked so much bigger, thicker than JMM.

This fight, along with the Pacman fights, solidified JMM as a HOFer IMO. He arguably beat Pacman at least once if not twice in their fights and KO'd Casamayor going up a weight class. You can't take anything away from him and he seems to get smarter with age, great fight for a great fighter.

I wouldn't say I'm Campbell's buddy, I've only fraternized in professional settings but since we're both Floridians we bump into each other frequently. He's a pleasant man and I have no objections to his personality.

I wasn't there so my guess is as good as anyone else's. I have heard both sides of the story and as expected, the both contradict each other. Campbell is saying that Guzman never intended to make weight and just didn't want to fight, while Guzman's team is saying he was extremely compromised and so on.

Regardless, Guzman will face heavy financial fines and a suspension, as well he should. I've seen a lot of craziness in the business, so neither story particularly shocks me.

One thing I will say is that boxing is show business, and in show business they have a saying that the show must go on. Guzman violated that and in doing so hurt the sport as a whole, while self-destructing his own career.

I wouldn't say destroyed, Casamayor was on the verge of being stopped a few times before he caught Katsidis. I agree though, JMM is great stuff.

Pac's style is more aggressive than JMM so it's logical that Pac could have KOed Casa earlier than Marquez. It doesn't mean **** tho....a win is a win....and granpa is OLD.

Even Katsidis was able to knock Casamayor out of the ring, he just didn't have the patience to finish him off. Pacman's got more power than Katsidis, he's got more speed and more championship experience as well. Sta. Cruz also defeated Casamayor already. Pacman's got more power, is faster and more aggressive than Sta. Cruz.

Of course Pacman would have KOed Casamayor earlier. He would have opened a cut on Casa's face by round 1 and would have made Casamayor fly out of the ring by round 3.

JMM's lucky he sparred 24 rounds with the best southpaw in the planet in preparation for his fight with Casamayor. Casamayor brought nothing to the fight Marquez hasn't seen before.

Oh yeah, and Guzman's an idiot.
