Would Pacquiao have knocked Casamayor out earlier?

People are reacting like JMM didn't beat up an Old man. He even looked like father time. Casamayor is so suspect that he nearly lost to Katsidis and by most accounts did lose to Santa Cruz. I think its an excellent introduction to the lightweight division. Casamayor folded pretty quickly once he finally got hit. Would Pac have knocked out Casamayor earlier? Either way a rubber match will obviously be Awesome!

I'm not sure if Pacquiao would have knocked him out but I wouldn't have been surprised if Pacquiao managed to hurt Casamayor earlier than Marquez did.

Pacquiao will overwhelm him w/ combinations.. Casamayor won't keep up with the conditioning of Pacquiao..

        PACQUIAO TKO3 Casamayor

Casamayor's age not being age not fully being exposed earlier was a case of smoke in mirrors. Whenever JMM opened up with combos and came forward he was successful. Pacquiao would have done that all night long. With that said, I think JMM will give make everyone in the Lightweight division look awkward and sub-stellar.

Pacquiao and Marquez are two different styles and they would have meshed differently with Casamayor. Marquez is a counter puncher and Pacquiao is an aggressor. What Marquez did right was make Casamayor come to him and be aggressive. Whenever Casamayor took over the countering role, he took over the fight. Pacquiao would give Casamayor that role immediately and would have walked into more shots, but his overall activity level would have swarmed him I believe.

Not really, Casamayor made Marquez reach a lot early on in the fight which made Marquez cautious to throw his shots, Casamayor was countering pretty good early on and was also doing a good job countering when he got his rhythm back in the later rounds.

Round 5 was probably the first time Marquez landed consistently on Casamayor and I thought that was because Casamayor lost his rhythm due to a cut over his right eye.

Styles make fights, I think Casamayor's style would have given Pacquiao problems but the Casamayor we saw against Marquez would have lost against Pacquiao, I'm just not too sure about a knockout.

Interestingly enough, i've been thinking about this since the marquez/casa fight. I definitely give marquez the credit he deserves for knocking casa out, but i see pac knocking him out MUCH earlier if they were to ever fight. In fact, judging by the way casa got ko'ed, i see pacquiao brutally knocking him out within 6..

I suppose in light of Sweet Revenge's points it is a bit silly to criticize JMM for not knocking him out earlier as he is a counter puncher. But I definitely believe Casamayor would have gone down earlier against Pac. I admit it doesn't matter since Pac V JMM would come down to another game of inches. I do believe JMM's performance should be put into perspective. I'd like to see him in against another decent fighter. One who's not an old man fighting like an old man. We know he matches up well against Pac and of course I would like to see that again but I'd also like to see him match up against a solid lightweight.

Unless Pac deliberately held back, he'd have KO'd Joel early.
                    ...and Guzman is an idiot.
