    pound for pound

the only reason marquez is moving up the ring's pound for pound ranking is because golden boy promotions who handles marquez now owns "the ring"! how would an expected win against an aging and to be retired 37 yr old casamayor force a new realignment?? look how cotto was tossed away so easily in the ranking because he's with rival top rank. the ring just lost all its credibility with gbp and lines itself with the wbc, wba, wbo, and ibf for partiality.

Surprised to see Williams in there, but a decent list.

I'd have Rafael Marquez and Pavlik both above Margarito, and like Mangler said, wouldn't have Williams closer than a stone's throw to that list. Otherwise, I have no problem with it. P4P lists are very subjective (and ******, in my opinion...nothing more than a marketing tool, really), and I'd have Marquez at #1 on my list, with Pacman and Calzaghe at a rough tie for #2.

You can say whatever you want, but Marquez is much more skilled than Pacman who, while much better than he used to be, is still somewhat one dimensional...fast handed southpaw with a lightning lead left that's very difficult to see coming...effective, but pretty much a 1 trick pony nevertheless...easily outboxed by Marquez in both fights, and wouldn't have been close to a win without multiple KD's. No way I could place him over Marquez on any list I made.

I have Pac ranked #3 now. Cal is number 1 with J.M.M moving to 2 over PAc who was #2. Styles/popularity won't ever get me to rank one fighter over another.

not bad rankings at all, my only complaint is cotto should still be in top 10. margarito may have won the fight, but cotto dropping off the list entirely isnt warranted as i dont see anyone else besides marg being able to whip cotto, and tbh its very possible cotto could win a rematch.

I agree cotto should be on the list and I have no clue how cal is so high. He has not faced the best and no fighting bhop at age 43 and barely winning does not count. He will lose to roy jones and after he does he better not be on this list because roy jones isnt a top 3 in lightheavy let alone a top p4p.

yeah but williams beat margarito and avenged his only loss by destroying quintana in 1 round. margarito has yet to avenge his loss to santos or williams and in a cowardly way shows no intention of ever doing so.

also mijares is rightly ranked higher than margarito. I'd also put calderon above margarito.

yea, if margarito is on the list, its only right to have pw on there too. ****, everybody saying "paul williams needs another big win," i think the same could be said for margarito. beating cotto one fight shouldn't propell this guy to a top 10 p4p'er, especially when he's ducking the guy that beat him.........

he wants to fight shane mosely and zab judah??!!! smh
