Exactly what I had in mind!..

I still think Money May's speed and footwork would be a big factor..and would carry him in to a decision.

But even a few of his 130 fights he was boxing... Rios, Hernandez, Hernandez, etc.

I just can't imagine that he would want to mix it up with the most offensively prolific fighter in the game. If he did, shame on him for making victory so much harder for him than it needed to be.
Shame on his ass but what a joy for US my brother.

You agree about Hatton, right? He waited quite a few rounds to actually start opening up on him. He was moving around the ring even in the rounds where he was opening up and throwing combinations. Hell he had just moved all the way around the ring when he knocked Hatton out.

Agreed man, if he opened up and really fought Marquez (as opposed to box) that would be the best fight Mayweather had ever been in.

Marquez would do better than most think, i'd still pick Mayweather to win, but if JLC gave Mayweather problems, so would Marquez.

5'8 vs 5'7 not a huge size difference ether as Marquez was still wirey at 135.

also, Marquez is sort of like Judah, an explosive fighter who can counter punch and assault, only he's got more heart and a bit less power.

          I really can't say..

See this is where Marquez timing and counter punching sets in. That guy has great timing.

Mayweather could even trade with him and be fine if he chose. He's faster and more accurate, if not as aggressive or bringing the same variety consistently. People are not taking into account chin and power. Mayweather is better in both, and had solid power up through lightweight. I see Mayweather winning by UD and dropping Marquez in the fight. Any technical advantage Marquez may have offensively (and honestly I don't see it, Mayweather can open up just as well if he wants) would be nullified by these factors.

I think Marquez has more power than Judah (P4P at least)... You notice how Judah hits really hard, but the hurt never seems to stick? He is able to hurt people because he is able to hit before their body can get ready to take it due to his speed. Marquez just has some heavy hands.

                That's what I think anyway.

That's absolutely true... the fact that he lands like 5 punch combos proves that his timing is top notch. I just don't know how well that plays out with a great defender... really and truly I don't.

I know Whitaker shut down Chavez's combination punching with his elusivity.

But Mayweather ain't Whitaker and Marquez ain't Chavez, so... who knows?

Glad to see someone else gets enjoyment from fights hours afterwards too.

I remember how great my entire night was (which was still a few hours) after Vazquez-Marquez III.

Even though we don't agree on much when it comes to the sport ferocity (except that Mosley's resume sucks ) it's good to know that we are both true boxing fans.
