the knockout and everything was very impressive, but honestly I was surprised at how tough the fight was for Marquez. I know it was his first fight at Lightweight, but he looked a little slower and Casamayor made him look pretty bad at times with some flush counter left hands.
but he finished the fight in very impressive fashion. nice job Marquez.

quite honestly though...hes not undisputedly the best at Lightweight now. dont forget that Katsidis was winning the fight before he got stopped by Casamayor only in just his last fight. just too many talented fighters at 135 to say for sure whos the best.

I saw the same thing. I was not sure if it was Casamayor showing hints of his former greatness, or Marquez showing the first signs of his age.

I think the range issues played a part in Marquez problems too.

Great tactical fight and Marquez did what I never thought he could do, KO Casamayor. Much respect to Marquez and I can't wait to see who he fights next at 135.

I think Marquez looked slow ass hell, he wont last at 135 and that sucks big time.

But that KO proves why hes the best counter puncher in the game, JMM #1!!!!

Casamayor was poor tonight, he never went after Marquez, he never fought with any authority and he never let his hands go properly. Marquez boxed well, his usual performance, but I expected a Casamayor of more vitality. He looked his age.

Exactly. Casamayor was not the fighter he used to be the past couple of years. He was losing to Katsidis in his last fight.

Great win for Marquez. Moving up in weight and knocking out the lineal champ. Casamayor may be old but he still brought it. I think being the bigger man was something he couldn't adapt to ultimately.
