This is so true. One of the reasons why I'm such a fan of Calzaghe. He's a fierce puncher.

I love a puncher if its his best asset.

Guys like Ali werent known for being big punchers but were equally exciting because of their pure boxing ability.

Ali was one of the best pure boxers of all time. great defense; etc. and that made him exciting to watch.

Just like mayweather...he's not a big puncher but people pay to see him fight for his pure boxing ability and great defense.

it also makes for exciting fights.

we all love a good puncher though...

Really? I prefer Ottke. Boxing pundits rate him the hardest puncher of all-time in the super middleweight division.

The UK were preparing this guy as Calzaghe's successor until his recent defeat http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...uman_id=271946

Punchers are always great to watch cause a lot of the time they are vulnerable themselves so there fights are always high drama and high contact fights

This is a great answer because this is why they love punchers cause they leave themselves open alot as well.

                Makes for a great fight.

Nobody really enjoys watching 2 guys circle each other and throw 2 jabs a minute.

Plus what the other fella said about punchers leaving themselves vulnerable to counter-punches.
