What happnened to Baby Joe Mesi's comeback?

Haven't heard about him in awhile. Whatever happened to his comeback trail? I see he's still undefeated fighting a bunch of bums since returning but has no future opponent. What's the deal? Did I miss something earlier in the news?

            He's a politician now, I don't think he's boxing anymore.

Touting himself as a fresh new face in politics, former #1heavyweight contender Joe Mesi won the ********ic primaryfor NY State Senate Tuesday night. Mesi who has shed the"Baby" nickname while campaigning took 53 percent of thevote compared to 35 percent and 12 percent for his twoopponents. Mesi is 36-0 as a professional boxer and hopes toremain undefeated in the political arena. He faces off inNovember against a ********** challenger for the 61stdistrict State seat.

Woa, an undefeated heavyweight that retired?! He's almost comparable to Mayweather Jr. in a different class, cool!

If Joe Mesi gets in office, that's huge for boxing. What would he have done if he continued fighting?
