How can you possibly equate Calzaghe fighting Froch with Taylor fighting Froch? You seem to be overestimating Taylor's current status as a boxer. Right now he's a SMW without a win at the weight who lost his last two fights and who was given the chance to fight for a title but instead chose to fight Jeff Lacy.

Calzaghe was an undefeated 10 year SMW champion who held all the belts, the Ring title and had beaten the #1 guy in the division in Kessler. He had the chance to fight Froch in a fight that would have added nothing to his career than another W on his SMW defence list, but instead chose to step up a division to fight Bernard Hopkins, the consensus #1 LHW and Ring titlist.

If you don't see the difference I can only conclude you are a moron of the highest degree.

Who has Froch beaten? A SHOT Robin Reid? A domestic level Hague? He hasn't fought anyone of note he's an average fighter with above average power and below average defense.

Point is, Taylor was offered the chance to fight for the WBC title against this 'nobody'. Surely this was a great fight for Taylor? I think the WBC were actually trying to do him a favour. Seems there's something about this nobody that Taylor doesn't like, because he isn't fighting him.

I don't think Froch is anything that special, but I think he deserves a shot, as do the WBC, and I believe he would have a chance against Taylor. Taylor is entitled to make whatever decisionshe wants in his career, coming off two losses its even understandable, but as I've said before, when you turn down a meaningful title shot against a guy who on paper you should beat, in favour of a 'money' fight with an even lesser opponent, you shouldn't be surprised when people call it a duck.
