    Chris Arreola is Overrated

Arreola has become ridiculously overrated on this forum...He beats some clubfighter named Witherspoon and all of a sudden people are claiming he is the next big thing.

I've watched his fight videos on youtube and I am not impressed....Arreola is fat, slow, one dimensional and he blocks way too many punches with his face....His resume is full of tomato cans, he hasn't beaten anybody with a pulse.

Arreola will get exposed by Sultan Ibragimov if that fight ever happens

Arreola is just a "toughman competition" class fighter. Lucky shots vs low end opposition can only get you so far.

what you fail to realize is that people respect heart and determination, hence why Lamon Brewster was/is so beloved despite his lack of pugilistic refinement. Sure there is a significant chance that Cristobal won't dominate the heavyweight ranks with his porous defense and his lack of boxing prowess. However, he has some respectable power along with a HUGE engine that never stops and he thouroughly enjoys fighting, its a great reprieve from the lackluster effort and performances of the current top contenders. Think about it, Wlad has the skill, power, and intelligence to rule supreme over the division and it's fans, but his unwillingness to push his advantage or to excite the crowds has hurt him. No matter what side fo the equation your on in regards to being a fan of Wlad's or a hater, some want to see him fight while others rue it. As for Arreola, his deficientcies are evident to all, but yet everyone wants to see him fight. Boxing as like all sports is entertainment, as thus the participants are entertainers. Cristobal Arreola always entertains us, even with his post-fight interviews. While sometimes the other top heavyweights make for great sleeping material. While Chazz Witherspoon, Thomas Hayes, Damien Wills, and Malcolm Tann aren't the best the division have to offer, but they're not the worst either. If Sultan is smart this is a winnable bout, but this fight could be reminiscent of Cotto/Margarito. With the more talented man (Ibragimov) winning the eearly rounds but the pressure could ware him down and the pressure fighter (Arreola) could ebat the fight out of him. Its an interesting matchup and to counter either man out for various reasons short-changes the fighters involved and actually shows maybe you should invest a little more time into appreciating the fighters instead of disrespecting them.

He's a glass chinned Mexi-American Hypejob who has yet to beat anyone with a pulse. He has only fought bums who will get brutally KO'd by Wlad if they fight.

Every thread of his is just calling someone a bum, and saying that they will get brutally KO'D by an Eastern European.

he is slightly overrated as a whole, like in the skills department, but when it comes to excitement and heart, he's lived up to the hype. he's a work in progress, give the man time, he's bound to lose a fight or two, but i think that he's not to bad, there are way worse out there that are getting the same if not more attention and there always will be.

i think that you can make these kind of criticism now, but they'd hold more water when he's getting all the breaks and winning with help from judges and the ref, or some hometown cooking........... i think it's a little premature to be jumping on old boy right now, especially when he hasn't done anything really, it's up and coming, he hasn't made it yet, if he did, then i would agree, whole heartedly............
