Hopefully through coming here they become aware of the wider world of boxing and start looking at others. That's exactly what happened to me, now I like two fighters, Calzaghe AND Kessler!

Haha. You funny ****.
In all seriousness though I think this is a bit of a common theme in boxing fans. It is such an emotional sport that ppl often get involved in the sport because of one particular fighter and just become attached.Comment

I am trying to learn, and discover new fighters outside my National fighters. It is a main reason i decided to join a forum, and learn more. I have only been watching boxing a few years, but have the eagerness to learn more about this great sport.Comment

Exactly, we're all here to learn about the sport and discover new talent.Comment

Andre Dirrell, obviously...
I was only kidding, I like lots of fighters, although i must admit that there aren't too many Americans I like at the moment. Probably my favourite yank boxer is Tarver because I think he's underrated and very funny, and though I've only seen him fight once I was very impressed with Nate Campbell against Juan Diaz. I have a lot of time also for Paul Williams who intrigues me largely because I have no clue how good he is or isn't, he is something of an enigma. I don't rate Pavlik or Taylor very highly, have a lot of respect for Hopkins and am in awe of the talent of Mayweather and Jones. Dawson I am undecided on.
My real favourite boxers are Calzaghe, Kessler, Pacman, Margarito, Nonito Donaire and Mijares.Comment

For sure, I think its somewhat unlikely that (unless you box) you are going to initially start liking it for its own sake. With me it was gradual, I always enjoyed watching big fights, Benn, Eubank, Bruno, Hamed etc, then Calzaghe, became aware of a young hatton on his way up and so on. It helped a lot that Calzaghe turned out to be so good, thats what got me coming here and created the obsessive boxing fan I am today.Comment
