It appears that a deal to match former three-division champion Marco Antonio Barrera (63-6, 42KOs) and WBA "regular" lightweight champion Yusuke Kobori (23-2-1, 12KOs) is close - according to Marco's brother Jorge Barrera. Marco is said to be already training in Guadalajara, Mexico. The fight would take place on November 7, probably in the main event slot on Don King's planned event in China. The fight would be held in conjunction with the scheduled WBC convention for the first week of November. [details]

Dammit, this is ASTOUNDING! Marco Antonio Barrera has been one of my favorite Mexican fighters all along, and he is going to encounter Yusuke Kobori, the newly crowned Japanese, in the very near future in China? Once again, dammit! I've heard rumors that Kobori and Ken-ichi Hagimori, the champion's promoter, has been struggling with negotiations with the tough Don King. But honestly, little did I imagine that things would turn out this way. This is incredible. I guess I might be the only one on this forum who's got hyped up at this news. Let it be the done deal. Let this fight take place. Let Yusuke Kobori be in limelight of his career. Heck, let this news be confirmed ASAP! This is making me nuts!Comment
