Fact of the matter is Hatton didnt want to lose his man status at 140 and negiotate for the fight to take place at 147 which Mayweather didnt mind, He could have fought Hatton at 140 if he wanted but he doesnt seem bothered about wanting to be the man at 140 as long as he kicks his ass which he did.

Hatton has had one fight since then. A tune-up with Lazcano. Now he's fighting the next best guy in his division. Which is exactly what Mayweather could've done.

At you referring to Witter but not mentioning his name to avoid looking like the bitter twat you are. If Witter had kept his paper title long enough then I would've expected Hatton to fight him.

Fighters get criticised all the time. The way you're coddling Mayweather is quite sickening. You dont think people criticised him for Mitchell or Judah or Baldy or Oscar? So whats the harm in taking a tune-up at 140 then taking on two of the best young champions in any weight division (Hatton/Cotto) later on.

I have no problems with the circumstances surrounding the Hatton fight, at the end of the day Mayweather was at 147 by then and I see no reason for him to have to come down in weight to face a challenger. Its credit to Hatton for not only going up to face him, but actually moving up and competing in that weight class first.

On Tszyu, in fairness Mayweather probably should have faced him before Hatton did at 140, since it would have been a megafight between the two best fighters around that weight. I think at one time Mayweather always planned to face Tszyu, but when he moved to LW from 130 he found that it wasn't as easy as he had anticipated and that put the brakes on it a little bit. It would have been great if it had happened and would also have been arguably Mayweather's career best victory to this day had he won, but we all know that circumstances often get in the way of what the fans want.

Exactly. Yet this ****** is trying to say Hatton called the shots and asked for it to be at 147. How ridiculous can you get? Hatton went to 47 before - WHY?! If he was so careful about protecting his status then why take a dangerous fight with an unknown Collazo at 47 risking his future big fights. Hatton went to 47 to chase Floyd and should be condoned for that, not cynically criticised as someone who was "protecting his status" by a bitter Witter fan.

And I doubt Mayweather had any intention of fighting Tszyu, he went down the WBC route knowing it would lead to a money fight on PPV with Gatti. And then fled the division.
