diaz is a phenomenal fighter but come on against ricky a bigger and stronger fighter would he really look the same. whats more ricky's brutal body assault would leave diaz in a crumpled heap - i will say this for diaz he has shown that he does have a pretty good jab and he has margins for improvement alot like cotto imporved in his last few fights before margarito.

but i still think ricky would win by brutal KO.

Hatton wouldn't have to look far to get to Diaz and won't be caught as much on the way in like he has in recent fights.

It would be an interesting fight though.
That Lazcano fight really made me skeptical of how many high level performances Hatton has left in him. He looked very, very ordinary against a fighter on the back end of his career. He managed to win the majority of the rounds, but he was hit and hurt too much along the way.

Diaz controls fights with the jab and I doubt he'd get away from it against Ricky. It would be less effective in the early going when Ricky has energy, but Hatton gets a bit predictable once he slows down later in fights. I think Diaz would be able to time Ricky as he makes his way inside later on.

Hatton does throw well to the body and that could be the trump card. Diaz has shown a bit of weakness against sound body punching. Ricky could wear him out a bit in the first half of the fight by throwing downstairs and by simply mugging him.

        Interesting fight though.

I reckon Diaz would outwork him myself..
Hatton could slow him with the bodyshots though and maybe get to him late.
