I am now thinking Juan Diaz has a good shot.....

against Hatton. Not sure he would win, but he did well against Katisidis, and Hatton is similar. Therefore i think he has a legit shot at the hitman. Thoughts?

Hatton is a much better body puncher and smothers much better on the inside, if Campbell was able to bully Diaz, I'm pretty sure Hatton would be able to as well.

At this stage of their careers I think Diaz would handle Ricky with relative ease.

Thats what i thought until his last fight. Ricky really looked 2 steps slower, and imo is not the same as he once was. The diaz we just saw against the current Hatton wins a close fight imo.

Lazcano was moving away from Hatton and trying to keep the fight at distance though, Diaz doesn't fight that way, he comes forward and fights on the inside, it's only in the Katsidis fight that he used the jab to nullify what Katsidis wanted to do but it wasn't him that wanted the fight to be fought at mid to long range, it was Katsidis'. Hatton wouldn't have to look far to get to Diaz and won't be caught as much on the way in like he has in recent fights.

It would be an interesting fight though.

Katsidis looked a lot like Gatti in his fight with Diaz, I think.

Depends how much Hatton has left in the tank. Diaz showed a weakness to the body against Campbell, but he also showed that it's hard to bully him around the ring against Katsidis, who's pretty strong. A more exciting fight, IMO, is Hatton/Katsidis, though obviously less meaningful.

i really cant quite believe how much people are writing off ricky hatton. if ricky gets back to working behind his jab and using good head movement then imo he is in the top 6/7 fighters in the world p4p.

diaz is a phenomenal fighter but come on against ricky a bigger and stronger fighter would he really look the same. whats more ricky's brutal body assault would leave diaz in a crumpled heap - i will say this for diaz he has shown that he does have a pretty good jab and he has margins for improvement alot like cotto imporved in his last few fights before margarito.

but i still think ricky would win by brutal KO.

Hatton gets KO'd by Diaz in the 10th, I have no doubt about it.
