The big difference between Boxing and UFC is that UFC fighters talk the talk and walk the walk, boxing fighters(not all) talk the talk, then walk with the money.

yes but mma is more than ufc, you have other organisations like pride and wec,

guys like Fedor and Faber could be the best in the world in their weight class but they arent in the ufc,

so ufc doesnt have all the best fighters in each weight, and the other organisations have their own belts,

so it is similar to boxing in a sense, different organisations have different champions,

well of course the UFC is going to have 1 title belt .. it's ONE organization

you can't exactly say the same for boxing, with the various promoters and networks all battling each other, there's no unity.

and then to top that off, there's 4 recognized championship belts.

I agree, that's what I like the most about White, excessive profanity aside, the man is passionate about the sport, and makes things happen.

Boxing could really use someone like that.

Itd be hard because MMA has a much larger talent pool to select from.

With boxing there are hundreds of thousands of fighters all around the world but hard to distinguish the tomato cans and hype jobs from the real deal.

With UFC however even their mediocre fighters are still proven fighters in 1 form of combat sport or another. So there is no such thing as bringing up a fighter which makes Dana White's job to market fights easier and 4 fans to identify with the sport

As Don King said "nowaday's everybody's a damn champion. We dont even know who the real champ is anymore"

Dana White has done a tremendous job promoting and bringing the UFC to the level it is today. He caters to the fans by making the fights that they want to see, and settles for nothing but the best fighting the best.

If boxing were to follow that formula, it would be in much better shape right now.

I give less than two drops of rat piss about Dana White or the UFC. Boxing has existed for hundreds of years, and it's been a major sport since the early 1900's, therefore it's had a longer time to be exposed to corruption and promoters.

If the UFC sticks around as long as boxing has I can see it turning out exactly the same. (More titles, more bad promoters, etc...)

GBP and the good of boxing should never be in the same sentence.

it's easy to say that boxing should be more like the ufc. but if it was arum fighters would fight only arum fighters, gbp fighters would fight gbp fighters, and so on. there would be no mayweather vs. hatton, no katsidis vs. diaz. the sport as a whole would suffer. And in regards to Dana White, i have no respect for a man who can call profesional boxers *******.
