Does Boxing need a guy like Dana White??

I am in no way a bigger UFC fan then boxing but I will occasionally watch UFC fights like Evans vs. Liddell tonight. Dana White is UFC's President and shot caller and knows all the big fighters, jokes with them and knows how to talk to them. He's a guy who constantly promotes his sport and goes across the country talking to networks and making his sport known. Boxing has guys like Lou Dibella, Dino Duva and Don King but I don't know if they compare to how ambitious Dana White is. Boxing could use a guy who tries to bring this sport back to the big networks and tries to get college and high school boxing teams going. A Vince McMahon or Dana White type of guy, I wanna know what y'all think on it.

Possibly, but boxing has been around forever so it isn't a new concept like all this mma bull****. I don't know what kind of advertising they would have to run with to get these frat boy & hillbillies who usually watch ufc to watch boxing.
Frankly I really don't care. I find UFC fan boys pretty obnoxious, so I really don't mind that they have a dumbed down bloodsport to watch.

Boxing needs to come up with 1 champion, 1 title, get rid of the Ring mag title, and produce a legit top 10. If White can achieve this, he is welcome.

Someone like Dana White would definitely be better than Don King.

There are some promoters who are good for the sport of boxing, though: Goossen, Sauerland, Seminole Warriors, K-2, Golden Boy.

And some who are not: Kohl, King, Arum, Ohner.

While Dana White certainly has the general right idea, in regards to match making and what else he does for MMA/UFC (like expanding there market to overseas, The Ultimate Fighter etc)

i feel his constant use of profanity during interviews and what not don't really help his or the UFC's image.

"Who's that bald headed potty mouth again?" o right, the owner of the UFC.

that Dana White tidbit was even mentioned during another one of those MMA/Boxing debates .. with Matt Serra, etc

Or telling Pav he has to fight Abraham, or that Pac has to face Valero, Guzman or someone in their prime...and no more money fights? If he did that, I'd welcome him.

That's another thing. UFC has one title belt where as boxing has IBF, WBO, WBA and WBC and unification fights aren't as common as everyone would like them to be. Also I'm not talking about Dana White coming to boxing I would hate that, I mean an ambitious guy like Dana White who wants to put his heart and soul into promoting boxing like Dana White does.
