There are some similarities. They both decided to promote themselves.

And Audley used to shoot off his mouth to the media about his being the best and how going to decimate the other heavyweights, yet the matchups with good opponents rarely materialized.

Audley was obviously overrated by himself and by many British fans - is Haye similarly overrated?

      Haye was undisputed champ CW

Audely never won a world title

put it this way i would rather see a HW that mixes it up and takes chances and maybe gets Koed than a robot who holds and does everything he can not to engauge his oponents

      Haye fights to win

Wlad fights to avoid getting KTFO then win second

I didnt vote on the poll for the same reason, no middle ground what so ever.

its giving you an option that is like saying ...is he not going to beat a single contender or is he going to something that only Tyson, Lewis and Wlad have been able to do in the last 20 odd years and clean out the division

Wlad has cleaned out the division? Don't think so pal.

Definitely agree. That's why everyone wants Haye, Peter and Chagaev to get better and improve so we don't have to deal with Wlad and his weak ass chin. Wlad is a borin fighter however he's the best of the heavyweight and it sucks. It's been goin on for too long now and everyone's tired of him, we need a brash young boxer who exciting and something to see and the heavyweight championship is his destiny. For David Haye is the man I am talking about he'll be champ of the world, there isn't a doubt. Here I predict Wladimir Klitschko's dismemberment, he'll hit him so hard he'll wonder where October November went. Ali rhymes never get old.

Yea. It would be nice to have an uppercut though, although Jim Lampley is always talking about Wlad's uppercut for some reason...

I remember Audley doing a lot of the same kind of talking as Haye is doing now, but ending up hardly fighting anybody.

Come to think of it, Audley still is, Tunney!

He still rekons he will win a world title. He is mental

But, yes. I can see Haye doing something like that. However, Haye does want to fight Klitschko at least. Audley ran away from Danny Williams to win the WBF "world" title and defend it against top names like Tomaz Bonin!

EDIT- After seeing his shortlist of oppennets (Chambers or Barrett) I change this to a no. He does want to fight good fighters, to get to Wlad.

Haye is a better boxer then Audley so i don't see the comparison.
