Kessler is proven now is he?? Beating Mundine once or KO Taylor once and winning by decision. Which fighter is more proven? After he beats Hopkins no excuses for this fight not to be made

Kessler had two belts with more than one defense of each.He was a proven champion at the time.

He also beat a few hardened real middleweight contenders to get there. He was not gifted the middleweight title. It was not an easy road to the title for him. He worked for it and is considered "the man" in the division because of it.

He also beat the Champion twice. The real linear champion of the division. Pavlik deserves a shot at Joe more than anyone, plain and simple.

Against who?? Mundine and who else. Pavlik has Taylor twice and Miranda and now if he beats Hopkins the fight should be made.

I agree they brought him up the ranks the right way. They threw him in with hardened fighters who would bring the fight to him and not just fold.Zertuchie,Zuniga and Miranda were no push overs but Jermain is the only elite win on his resume.

Anyone can get a title these days. Mundine held the WBA SMW title

41 fights and Mundine is the best name on his resume

How many elite wins does Joe have? When you break it all down, he has some damn good wins, but elite wins? Joe is more recognized for his longevity than his opponents. Kessler was a great win over a fellow belt holder in his prime. That is the only one I can think of to be honest with you. Joe has a lot of good solid wins over respectable guys, but so does Pavlik.

Pavlik is also considered the real linear middleweight champion of the world. That is all the resume he needs to deserve a fight.
