You can put me on ignore but still comment on my threads? If you are going to be a coward at least be a consistent coward and ignore every thing I post. Thank you.

        Toney is leagues above Joe.

The only thing Joe has over JT would be workrate, as Toney had a bad habit of not only taking rounds off, but minutes off DURING rounds.

Joe would capitalise on Joe's sloppiness, too slick, too good counter attacking and too technically brilliant to let Joe wail away at him with his pitty pat flurries. And neither this current version, or the young Calzaghe, had nearly enough to hurt Toney and his iron-chin.

I don't think JT would knock him out but he'd beat him, and show the gulf in class. JT's counter punching would slow Joe's workrate down big-time, IMHO. If fighters like Reid, Kessler and (spent) Hopkins could find a way through Joe's defence easily, imagine what Toney would do.

Please remember this is prime on prime. Obviously a prime Toney would beat Joe now but we are talking about both being in their physical primes also.

I don't think workrate is the only advantage Joe would have had over James. He has/had faster hands than Toney and I think his movement was also superior. Make note I am by no means saying Toney could not have won, just that Joe is definately in Toney's league and personally I think he would have had the edge in this one.

You bring up a couple of good points that highlight why I feel Toney would win the fight: Joe wouldn't hurt James and I can see Joe getting caught with enough counter punches to get KD in the late rounds and possibly out.

I'm a Brit. And yeah, I know you're only satirising the response of some British posters when their fighters get belittled.

Incidentally, is anyone else really looking forward to Abadger and KrisSilver joining this particular thread party?

I have NO idea what they're gonna think about this match-up. Ooooh, I'm so excited to see which way they're gonna plump! James or Joe???

                  Come on guys, share away!

Joes movement wouldn't be a factor because he would have to engage Toney and the counter-puncher usually controls the action. Toney does most of his work in the pocket anyways so Joes movement and hand speed wouldn't make that much of a difference.
