Freddie Roach, trainer of Manny Pacquiao, is not going to take a chance with Oscar De La Hoya being overweight on the day of the weigh-in. He says that if De La Hoya comes in overweight the fight will be off because he won't let Pacquiao get in the ring. The fight takes place on December 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Pacquiao, the WBC lightweight champion, will move up by two weight divisions to the agreed upon fight weight of 147. De La Hoya has not made 147 since 2001. There is a clause in the fight contract that would cost De La Hoya a lot of money for not being able to make weight for the fight, $3 million dollars for every pound above 147, or a fraction above the weight.
