Why does TheRing have Hopkins as #4 p4p but Calderon not in the top 10?

I love how you always throw in the ex-convict comment. He grew up in a socially-economically depressed area and turned to crime like so many people in his shoes do, not to mention this happened when he was a TEENAGER. He's reformed himself and does not promote crime or violence in addition to helping the community he grew up in, yet you still have the audacity to continue to make cheap shots about him being an ex-criminal. It's absolutely pathetic and your hate clearly shines through.

Hopkins grew up in a nice neighborhood, it was by his own choice in his teens he hung around rough areas.

And most people who do grow up in poor neighborhoods don't resort to stealing old ladies purses, like Hopkins did.

His weak character still shows in his resorting to head butts and holding & hitting, and in his poor sportsmanship after the fight with Calzaghe. When Reid lost the SD to Joe, he was a good sport about it and gave Joe credit.

What do you consider a "nice" neighborhood? he was born in the projects and later moved to an area that was still-crime ridden, even though it may have been a step up. While not everyone that grows up poor resorts to crime it's certainly easier to fall into the trap which explains why there is a higher crime rate among the poor. I saw ONE headbutt that Calzaghe ran right into. Are you forgetting about Calzaghe's low blows and rabbit punches?

To me, neither Hopkins nor Calzaghe really looked good enough in their last fights to justify a top 5 p4p berth. For me, Hop shouldn't be top 10 just as a rule, and I'm one of Bernards biggest fans. Thats because he went away in the last half against Calzaghe. He ran, he held, he playacted, he appealed to the ref, he took unnecessary time outs. He's 43, he aint p4p. He still a tricky mother****er and he forgot more about the sport than most boxers already know, but he isn't a killer anymore. He hasn't got the legs. That's a natural process, ageing. So a p4p list is one that commands prestige, it's the very best fighters regardless of weight in the world, and though Hopkins may be the sharpest, most intelligent operator he no longer is the strongest opponent, he no longer is a 12 round fighter. So he aint on my p4p list. As for Calzaghe, he's obviously got that glittering unbeaten record, he looked terrible against Hop too but no1 looks good against Bernard, and you can give Cal a bit of a pass on that; he gets p4p placement, but I wouldn't have him all that high, maybe around 5 or 6 genuinely
