It seems that half of the people in this thread are too hard on Margarito, the other are too hard on Williams.
Margarito is fighting a tough opponent that many have picked to beat him, in a unification fight.
Williams has tried to land a tough opponent, but through no fault of his own, it hasn't worked out.

Well unlike pea and pbf margarito has already fought williams so the answer should be no he is not scared. If he would have avoided him as his mandatory and now then you can make a case. Everyone was bitching saying clottey would beat margarito and margarito should give him a re-match before all this williams hype. Now that margarito is going to fight clottey the guy that would have beat him if it wasnt for "an injury" in the first fight, he's scared of williams if he fights williams the clottey camp cries marg is scared of clottey. Its a no win situation. He is the guy to dethrone the undisputed champion in cotto and I think williams is a little jealous of that and in dire need of attention. Rest assured margarito is not scared of williams. There was nothing in that first fight to be scared of. I would have never even thought margarito was in a fight by looking at his face. On the other hand williams was busted up and swollen immediately after the fight. If a rematch happens williams doesnt change anything and margarito picks up where he left off. I hope this fight happens ASAP!!!!!! Only thing is somebody will come up with another form to try to bash margarito. Dios' dumb ass will probably sit around his screen prayin ppv numbers are horrible so he can use that to try to bash margarito. He's so sick that the cotto-margarito fight was a success, it makes me wonder how much of a boxing fan this guy really is.Comment

it's not really about deserving a fight with anyone. Look at judah, juarez as examples they have gotten many championship bouts with really no justification for them being in them. It's not that anyone deserves anything it's more that this is the fight that makes the most sense to most. Maybe pwill should fight cotto since margarito already fought pwill let them go at it and margarito could fight the winner. It's easy to say pwill deserves a shot basing it on the fact he got a decision on margarito, but other than margarito he's biggest win is maybe a fluke 1st round ko of a guy that mopped the ring with him in their first fight. why not a 3rd to settle the score? I don't like to talk like floyd and say who deserves what I just want to see fights that make sense and prove things.Comment

your point is?margarito is far more proven than williams. Margarito has gotten to where he is at with hard work and dedication. He was and has been a champ for years!!!!!! Williams thinks opening his mouth makes him the best ww? Why doesn't he settle the score with quintana? why doesn't he fight cintron, collazo, or judah at ww? Why doesn't he fight spinks at 154? or phillips or even santos? at 160 why not vera? Lee? Griffin? Instead he's fighting kolle???
