I like to watch Wlad. He's a little too cautious at times, and has been in boring fights, but I don't think he's a boring fighter. He's a big puncher. He can take you out with one punch, so you're always in suspense.

Is Wladimir Klitschko a boring fighter?

This is the 3rd thread in the last 15 minutes or so where I have seen him post something totally senseless and beyond reason. I feel he is either just poking fun or quite unknowledgable about the sport.
I might take your advice , mate. Much appreciated.

He didn't used to be, but he has become a boring fighter. He hasn't had an entertaining fight in a couple years, not since Peter. Unless, of course, you enjoy watching Chris Byrd or Ray Austin being demolished in one sided fashion. A part of me likes those kinds of fights, but they are rather forgettable. His opponents haven't exactly been attacking him very aggressively though. I still look forward to his fights, but yes he has become a boring fighter.

He's become far more hesitant to throw his shots, he's content with just jabbing his way to victory if he could so it can make for dull fights but there's always a possibility of a knockout with him so he's not really a boring fighter.

He was boring against Ibragimov, but everyone is in bad fights. Joe C. is normally exciting, but was a bore agaisnt Hopkins. Pacquiao was boring against Sanchez and Barrera II. Aside from the Ibragimov fight, Wlad has recently:
KO'd Calvin Brock. Brutally.
Took the fight out of Brewster.
KO'd Thompson. Brutally.
KO'd Austin. Brutally.
KO'd Byrd. Brutally.
Not too damn shabby!

The Thompson fight was dull before the KO
The Austin fight was a joke
The Byrd fight was dull before the KO
Before the Brewster fight Wlad was great to watch i don’t care if he lost to be honest but since the Brewster fight he is not so great to watch, its affective but it wont win him many fans.

He has become too cautious lately, no doubt about it. I don't mean he should rush for the KO the second the bell rings but he used to have more variety and combinations.
This is back when he wasn't so damned afraid of taking a punch or running out of stamina. The man has more tools than just about any fighter around, he only needs to use them.
Anyone can have a few boring fights here and there but it's slowly starting to become a pattern. I do have high hopes for Wladimir's potential fights with Povetkin and Haye though, those two aren't Ibragimov or Tony Thompson.Last edited by TheGreatA; 09-03-2008, 05:06 AM.

I love KOs, and Wlad has given me a lot of them over the years!
Partly because of his one-punch KO power, and also because of his superior technical boxing skills, Wlad is very exciting to watch.
