They should learn to correct the huge mistakes they made in FNR3. Graphics-wise, it was superb when you watch the 360 or PS3 versions. It wasn't as smooth as the PS2 version (I have both PS2 and PS3 versions), but the graphics delivered nonetheless.
It's the little details that count and there are many things that can be improved upon tremendously. I should've made a Word file on all these improvements they should make a long time ago, and I will: in the meantime, here's some suggestions that I have for the game:
-Signature chants from crowds:
-Hard blows that wobble opponent, at which point the stunned person has to wiggle the joystick for 2 seconds or something similar, while it sets up a free shot for the other person, if the wobbled person is repeatedly struck while in this stunned state, he gets knocked down. Different than entering "knockdown" mode. (Akin to Victorious Boxers 2, but that game is sometimes fast as hell)
-Parries allow you to strike, but it has to be quick (not the exageration of 3 or 4 punches). Parrying should be difficult and on cue for fighters with a certain guard, but easy for those with the philly shell, however as a trade off they get to hit less.
-Customized entrances: how you LOOK going into the ring, how you WALK going into the ring and what you do once INSIDE the ring. I can't stress enough how embarrassing it is to see Sonny Liston doing the electric bugaloo in Fight Night Round 2 when he's coming in...THAT'S NOT HIS STYLE. BTW, they should introduce/announce fighters once INSIDE the ring (as in the original Fight Night 2004). In Fight Night 2 or 3, they announce fighters as they're making their way into the ring: as if it were WWE......HAS ANYBODY NOTICED THIS?! C'MON!!!
-Better knockdowns- The ones in FNR3 suck, they're always a rigid type of knockdown that is pre-programmed to play depending on the punch. You might think it's great, but it makes the knockdowns animations monotonous and repetitive. The ones in FNR2 were great assuming the legs didn't get tied up in some sort of weird contortionist fashion. The only thing I DID like (and that they should keep) are knockdowns for the body shots. That was a great detail added in that game. Instead of falling back as they usually did in FNR1 or FNR2, the hurt opponent would grab his body and kneel on the ground. Great addition on their behalf...but again, they need to fix those monotonous knockdowns.
-Flash knockdown to the body: they should make someone walk away and then gently kneel (for example like some of Cotto's early opponents and Jose Luis Castillo against Ricky Hatton).
-Getting knocked down and being held up by the ropes is bad. The ropes hold you up assuming the knockout comes from an uppercut. When this happens, if you can unleash more punishment while the opponent is knocked out while being held up by the ropes (something that frequently happened in FNR2), you will win via TKO, as if the ref would step in.
-Low blows greatly sap stamina for a while. Elbow has a great chance of opening a cut.
Dashing in+"Wobble" Status+ Plus Jab or Straight Right=knockdown
Dash- present in FNR1, not present in FNR2, and then back again in FNR3. What gives?
EA gloves- Please remove the EA logos from the front of the boxer's gloves, there is no need to consistently remind us that we're playing an EA Sports game. The saturation of advertising in FNR3 was de****able as well, you'd think with that much advertising, they'd be able to put in better boxers, but they don't have the fantastic roster of FNR2, which in my opinion was the best.
Fight Night Round 2 roster:
Roy Jones Jr
James Toney
Muhammad Ali
Chris Byrd
Joe Frazier
Evander Holyfield
Sonny Liston
Rocky Marciano
Ken Norton
Jeff Lacy
Antonio Tarver
Bernard Hopkins
Ray Robinson
Jermain Taylor
Ronald Wright
Jake LaMotta
Ricky Hatton
Roberto Duran
Arturo Gatti
Shane Mosley
Miguel Cotto
Ray Leonard
Micky Ward
Ricardo Mayorga
Mike Anchondo
Jesse James Leija
Juan Lazcano
Floyd Mayweather
Marco Antonio Barrera
Kevin Kelly
Derrick Gainer
Diego Corrales
Juan Marquez
Rafael Marquez
Erik Morales
Manny Pacquaio
Roster from Fight Night Round 3:
Arturo Gatti
Bernard Hopkins
Calvin Brock
Diego Corrales
Erik Morales
Evander Holyfield
Floyd Patterson
Jake Lomotta
James Toney
Jeff Lacy
Jermain Taylor
Jesus Chavez
Joe Frazier
Juan Lazcano
Manny Pacquiao
Marco Antonio Barrera
Marvin Hagler
Mickey Ward
Muhammad Ali
Oscar De La Hoya
Ricky Hatton
Roberto Duran
Ronald Wright
Roy Jones Jr.
Sugar Ray Leonard
Sugar Ray Robinson
Vincente Escobedo
Fight Night Round 3, by this time Cotto was bigger, Hatton was bigger, why the hell were they taken away? Same story with Shane Mosley and Floyd Mayweather...taken out. Mayorga, while not necessarily that good of a boxer, should've been there as well for casual fans. JMM and R Marquez out of the picture...maybe it had to do with fame as JMM [probably] had a bad time trying to fight big name fights around that period, but if that's the case, then why is someone like Vicente Escobendo in the game??? Can anyone explain this to me? The roster is smaller than FNR2's, and the only fighters worth noticing that are new are Patterson, De la Hoya and Hagler...in exchange for Hatton, Marciano, Cotto, Mayweather, Mosley and the Marquez brothers.
More suggestions from other posters on past topics:
Make the jab/straight useful even if you're not using the "judge jab style/ straight style"
-Make sure you can't KO a Heavyweight with a Featherweight
-Inside Fighting
-Better stances. Traditional stance blocks the left hook.
-More punches. Overhand punches. Wide hooks. Short right hands. etc.
-A referee.
-Lower the ease of knockouts.
-Reach plays a part in the fight.
-More training exercises.
-Different ring sizes
-In career get rid of Rivals unless you go the distance or lose and win so a rubber match is made.
Hope that helps. It's nice to hear that they're continuing the series, but there are many things that they can fix. They most likely won't fix everything, but there is a lot they can improve on.
Let's hope this one's great!Comment

Here is what I found on Wikipedia,
Fight Night Round 4 is a boxing video game developed by EA Sports. It is the sequel to EA Sports' previous boxing title, Fight Night Round 3, which was released in 2006. Round 4 is expected to be released in 2009 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3[1].
Confirmed fighters include Muhammad Ali, Ronald "Winky" Wright, "Sugar" Ray Leonard, Lennox Lewis and "Iron" Mike Tyson, making his Fight Night debut. [1]
A video on YouTube posted by one of the developers revealed an early render of Mike Tyson in his early years. His current apperance will also be used as well.
This link talks about career modes and the changes they should or are making
