Well, you kinda have to admit that it's been fairly effective so far.

I think there is a serious lack of intelligence in the ranks of those who do the...er, rankings (pardon the pun). Have any of these guys even watched Haye fight? He's got loads of inherent talent and great handspeed, but if he steps into the ring with a reasonably tall boxer/puncher with decent skills, he's going to leave it in a bodybag.

David Haye is trying to make it seem like he lost 5 fights. He only lost 2 of those fights and one was a robbery. Haye is scared.

He fights low, keeps his guard low as well, leans in, doesn't use his jab enough (though he's been improving a little here), reaches in too often leaving himself off-balance and wide open...he's a train wreck waiting to happen, and his trainer is mostly to blame, I think.

If he were to do some work in the gym on these few bad habits I've outlined above, he could be a force in the heavyweight division. If he doesn't, he's going to be KO'd a couple of times in a row and all his "fans" will be gone faster than **** off a burning ship, and there will be 5 gazillion threads on this forum about how he was "exposed". Not looking forward to that ****, lemme tell ya.

This would be an easy night for James. 40 years is young for a Heavyweight these days. One thing a fighter never loses is his power. And Toney has serious power which would give Haye a lot of problems.

Toney wobbled Rahman bad with right hand in 3rd, then Rahman quit like a mut cos he knew he was gonna get KO'd bad and go back to Baltimore in a pine box. I expect Toney to come in even better shape for Haye fight if it eventuates cos Toney knows it's his last serious tilt at a Heavy Title.

Toney's punches would start to take their toll in round 4 and Haye will succumb to a terrible beating with ref waving it off the same time Haye's corner throw in the towel.

That was actually a fight against Alexander Gurov at Cruiser. I was just responding to the part where you said he'd leave in a body bag against a taller boxer/puncher with decent skills. Gurov was tall, a very good boxer and a murderous puncher. I actually think taller fighters play into his hands.

I take your point though. He needs to lift his left hand up about 10 inches, he's basically scratching his knee with it when he fights

No, buddy, sorry, but it isn't. Forty years is old no matter what sport you're in.

Rahman is probably one of the most hittable heavyweights, and Toney is a beautiful counterpuncher with great accuracy. No surprise there. Just don't go thinking Toney is a big 1 punch KO artist...he isn't, never has been, he's just good at getting alot of shots on target and hurting guys with an accumulation of punches.

And yes, I agree that Tony will be in very good shape...after all, round is a very good shape.

I think Haye is probably in good enough shape that Tony most likely wouldn't be able to stop him. Toney is NOT going to follow someone around the ring to land, he'll lay on the ropes and wait for them to come to him. He could, conceivably win a decision against Haye (unlikely in my opinion), but there won't be any stoppage on his part. Haye might stop Toney, though. He's got fast hands, good power, and if he can land a few big shots he might get Toney out on his feet and get the stoppage himself.

George Foreman did it at 45 so why can't toney do it 40? Jersey Joe did it in late 30s. A 40yo like Toney would just about put it over most Heavies in a bad way. Today's Heavies are all manufactured in order to bring in the Heavyweight dollars for their managers. Toney has real skills, power and too much ring savy for these guys to seriously do anything to Toney.

Peter hit Toney with his hardest punch in the fifth and didn't do **** to Toney who ended up dominating Peter from the sixth round onwards and ended up getting robbed in the end. Toney did admit after the fight that he was stunned by Peter's bomb.

Haye's chin isn't the hardest even though he's a hard puncher himself. Can he handle the accumulative effects of Toney's shots and survive? Toney's no Macarinelli so you can forget his last performance.

If toney doesn't fight Wladimir I'd like to see him get in there against Haye for WBO Title.

Toney ain't no Foreman, that's why. Foreman was one of the most dangerous powerful punchers in heavyweight history, with the ability take his man out instantly with either hand. If he'd been able to keep in fighting trim, he probably could've kept fighting until he was in his early to mid 50's and still be knocking out most of his opponents.

Toney is highly skilled, but he ain't no Big George.

Haye talks a lot of ****. I'd love to see Toney beat him. I think Haye would win at this point, but I won't count Toney out.
