A prime Tyson would get taken down and submitted in under a minute by Fedor. You throw an equally talented MMA fighter who trains boxing and they last longer. That is my point. Do you think Tyson trained jiu jitsu or wrestling? Nope. Do you think top flight MMA fighters train boxing? Absolutely. No, My opinion>Your opinion.
I never said that Boxers would be ultimatley successful in MMA. I said they have more chance of winning an MMA bout then an MMA fighter has winning a boxing match.
Let me get this straight.....You think the hardest, quickest and most accurate punchers in the world couldnt land a single flush shot with those tiny little gloves? I never said it would happpen in every fight...or even the majority of fights......but it would happen.
Ok, Hypothetically a prime Tyson fights a prime Fedor. If you have ever seen tyson fight you would understand how he could beat Fedor AT LEAST 20 percent of the time.
You take Silvia and put him in the ring with even a B level fighter with boxing rules and he gets ****ed up a large percentage of the time. A bad boxer almost always loses to a good one.
Cong**** on taking my realistic reasoning and twisting it into some bull**** about Usain Bolt. You have acheived nothing.
Usain Bolt may be the fastest man in the world, but being a top flight NFL reciever encompasses much more than speed. Just like throwing a good punch is a fraction of what you need in MMA.
A boxer does have a punchers chance, but your ****** assumption that it would occur as much as 20% of the time has no basis.Comment

Boxing is simply just a much tighter sport. There's just a much higher level of technique in boxing. That's why so few fighters are undefeated in MMA. There's so much variety in MMA that anything can happen. Just compare how many losses there are for the P4P lists for both boxing and MMA.
I'll give MMA one thing though. The fans get to see the fights that SHOULD happen, and you can't duck in MMA.Comment

I see your point. Where your argument goes wrong though, is that MMA isn't so much a compilation of many different fighting techniques. Like saying "oh boxing? that's just a tiny part of the skillset that you need to succeed in MMA". This is simply not the case. MMA is a whole nother style of fighting in and of itself. Just because you throw punches in an MMA match doesn't make it boxing.Comment
