Yeah and you can thank GBP & HBO for that. Unlike Cotto-Margarito, there's gonna be a 24/7 tucked into possibly the biggest boxing budget ever. I'm so disappointed this fight actually came off but Oscar De La Hoya just keeps getting away with it. Shame on Pacquiao but hey, can you blame him? Here's hoping he wins and then does the right thing by giving his fellow lightweights a chance.
Why this message board is removed from the reality of boxing

Oh yeah, i cant remember where i think it was Espn they had a poll of who u want to see oscar fight, and they had Pacman over Hatton, Maragorito and Floyd.
People on boards like this are the only ones who thinks this is horrible,
and i bet u more than half of us are going to buy the PPVComment

I'm going to make this short and sweet.
A lot of you are living in a dreamworld.
Just a personal example, and I know this doesn't mean anything but it might be something to consider.
I throw boxing parties all the time, where I get people who don't care about boxing to come out and watch fights.
I tried to get people to come to Cotto Margarito and no one, even people who watched boxing like I do, came or cared.
I've already gotten ten texts about Oscar vs. Pac and people's opinions on the fight and how they can't wait to see the superfight.
Just cause you guys say something is a joke, or killing boxing, doesn't mean it's true to the average fan.
Just something to think about.Last edited by ¡VIVA MEXICO!; 08-29-2008, 09:43 AM.Comment

but those are casual fan's
who give two ****s on what casual fans think?
we the real boxing fans know what sup with this fight....
we already know it like DLH vs Floyd and is going to be hyped up beyond reason....we all know in reality oscar is doing this for money and an easy win......
who care what they think
this fight is a joke
end of story
casual fans become hardcore fans by having people around them know and teach them the sport from a hardcore spectator's view.
You show them DLH vs Manny then tell them about Cotto vs Margarito, Diaz vs Katsidis (almost guaranteed to be an all out fight), Dawson vs Tarver, etc.
you get them to know the names of the fighters who truely make up the sport.
honestly, we as the hardcore SHOULD care about the casual fan because their interest is in the right direction and all we need to do is coax them along. I have seen done a lot hell I was more a casual fan back in the late 90s then a hardcore oneComment
