What type of preparation do you go through when you broadcast for Espn Classic? Obviously you have to pretend like your doing a live broadcast which means have to be up on the present and past scene of the time and of course not mention anything that happens beyond the fight. Is it also hard to get into a fight when you know what's going to happen and do some acting along the way?
To tell u the truth, I never do any preparation for the fights I have called because I prefer to have it be as much of a thing where it is a surprise to me as possible. The great thing for me is that many of the fights (Jr. Jones-Johnson, Gatti-Patterson, Holyfield-DeLeon) were fights I had never seen before so they were ones that I didnt know what was going to happen next or how the fight unfolded before the end. For me it was very easy to do the broadcasts because my job was to basically tell what each guy should do or needed to do or could do better to win the fight so even though I knew Pazienza would go on to lose a decision to Camacho I was still very adamant about what he needed to do in there to fight better and maybe win the fight. Also, when Rahman hit Lennox with that right hand my surprise was very real, I had never seen the fight before and didnt realize it ws that round that it ended. It was funny, too, because I had just gotten done saying that Lennox bounced off the ropes too often with his hands down and then, wham, it landed in the same way I criticized him for. Made me look good

that nunn fight was beast. i dug how you attacked him as a southpaw and were bombing him with those right hooks. did you work on that a lot in training? i used to love to switch to southpaw to have my right as a jab which was very powerful but my trainer got on my ass about it....

Good catch. Yes, I definitely worked on that in training..the thing is I am lucky I can switch to southpaw as easily as I go righty...when I go in with southpaws I try to take that awkward stance away from them by going southpaw myself..it even things out and my best punch is probably the right hook anyway so it works wel for me. If you do good with it, too and your coach sees it maybe he will warm up to the idea

From what I know, they wanted to have all their own stamps on the fights as they are broadcast on thier own airwaves

I kinda liked Briggs as the guest FNF guy, but did find it an odd choice.

Time Warner has a sports-boxing search. It shows any boxing shows for the next week.

You were on Classic last night. I watched you beat Nunn for like the third time. You won that fight!

A lot of people tell me they saw that...you know, its funny but in the almost thirteen years since the fight happened I have never watched it fom first bell to last. Thanks for the info about Time Warner schedule.

why dont they get ahold of fights like duran -moore and some willie pep fights. they never show salvador sanches, they only show later camachofights. how come they dont show camacho when he beat solis and louis loy?? that camacho was everything every bit as talented and exciting as mayweather. hes great. they only show him versus pazman and haugne? why ice? why?

                      ICEMAN JOHN SCULLY,

Thanks for the explanation. I just noticed on my DVR I have your fight with Nunn recorded since it's programmed to record every ESPN classic show...I'll have to check it out sometime this weekend.
