After Dawson gave Adamek a boxing lesson I thought he was going to be boxing's next superstar. Apparently I got that one WRONG! He performed poorly against Johnson then afterward claimed that everything went according to plan and that Johnson didn't deserve a rematch. Then he ducks Diaconu and gives away his belt. Who is giving him advice, Rid**** Bowe? Obviously this joker is no superstar. Could he beat Hopkins? Who the hell knows?

i see your a Hopkins fan Tunney

i think Hopkins would ko Dawson, Dawson seems a bit chinny, so i could see Hopkins hurting him with his straight right

Dawson beat Johnson 8 rounds to 4. Its a good fight watch again if you can. 2nd and 3rd time I watched the fight scored them both for Dawson. Friend of mine follows boxing too also scored it for Dawson after initially thinking Johnson won after the first watch. Yes Dawson got hurt at the end of fight, but that does not take away from all the combos and counters he landed all night. Showed good handspeed and quickness.

It is not what he did right, it is what Dawson did wrong that made the fight too close for comfort. Johnson was a hand picked opponent, an aging journeyman who is long past his prime. There is no excuse for Dawson to struggle for 12 rounds when Hopkins made Johnson look easy years ago. If Dawson had fought like that against Adamek, we wouldn't even be talking about him now.

I think he might give Dawson problems but if he won, it'd be by a razor thin decision. Dawson would get beat up and bruised but he'd win because of his workrate IMO.
Get beat up and cut? LoL, Hopkins now has the work work rate of Eric Harding. Dawson will box move, box move, and out gun him. At this stage of Hopkin's career, Dawson is a stylistically bad matchup for him.

I think Hopkins would give Dawson fits. He clearly didn't enjoy facing Johnson's pressure and God knows what he would make of Hopkins lunging in at him, grabbing him around the neck and delivering short punches to his chin.

But do I think B-Hop could beat him? I doubt it, I don't know if B-Hop can still beat young fighters like that anymore.
