mexican-americans make up a large portion of boxing fans in america.

when you have a big crossover fanbase like tito did, it doesnt really matter. They may make up a large portion of boxing fans, but they arent the end all-be all of fans. Like i said, tito crossed over, many mexican fighters dont do that, or latin fighters in general, but tito did, just like oscar.

yep totally agree.the mainstream media pays more attention to african american and mexican fighters.espn had there top 25 boxers of all time and they had oscar and chavez in it.not one puerto rican.he and oscar are atleast damn near together in all time rankings in my opinion.
it was a **** list beyond the top 10 but still.........

i dont know he was huge already. he was respected by everyone and very popular. Would he have had more fans if thats the question then yes i guess he would have more fans because of the numbers of mexicans and mexican americans here in the US. but i still think he was huge already in his day and it wouldnt have been such a huge difference...
