Absolutely ZERO way of telling till he fights a live body in the pros. Completely different styles. Some make the transition. Some. Don't.

wow, a thread where Wlad Owns favors the white fighter over the non-white fighter. Who would have guessed it???

LMAOchenko is very good, but I get the feeling that Wlad Owns will have turned the entire board against him by the time he makes his pro debut.

Would you care for Lomachenko as much as you do if his name were Juan Sanchez, or Kassim Anton, or Jin Chong?

I think both of them are great talents and I can't choose either one over the other.

If both were amateurs though and they were to fight that fight would've been bigget than Amir Khan vs Mario Kindelan.

Lomachenko looked great in the Olympics and IMO was definitely the most impressive boxer. He didn't fight like a 20 yr old, but somebody that had many am fights. He had a good turtle shell defense and quick hands. It's just we can't say if he beats Gamboa at this point. He needs some pro fights under his belt against solid opposition like Gamboa has had for us to really gauge as to where he'll be as a pro. Speculating at this point I think he has a good shot at being a top notch fighter at FW or SFW. Gamboa is athletically gifted as they come though. Should make for some interesting fights in the future. Imagine Linares, Gamboa, Lomachenko, and even Robert Guerrero in those weight classes. Hell even somebody like a Juan Manuel Lopez could move up.

Let's actually wait until he turns pro first.
